RCC/RPL - Recognising Your Prior Education and Experience

If you have been training Bootcamps and Outdoor Group Fitness already then it may be possible to recognise that experience, or if you have on the job training or a different certificate, it may be possible to recognise that also.

Eligibility

RCC is only eligible to those interested in enrolling in the Advanced Course and wish to be recognised for the Level 1 course. It is not granted as a standalone option, and it is not available for the Advanced Course*.

*Please remember CECs are 'continuing education' and we wish to ensure fitness professionals are given new ideas and key skillsets, rather than an opportunity to bypass the Fitness Australia CEC requirements.

Suitability

Upon receipt of your application and evidence pack we will review it against the Level 1 course aims and objectives. There is the possibility that we may deem that you do not have the appropriate prior learning, work experience or similar qualification. In this case you may be required to attend the full Level 1 course, or we may need to examine a specific area.

Process
  • Contact us for an RCC application.
  • Complete the application, attaching evidence where possible, and return it to us.

We will review and advise of the outcome:

  • Deemed suitable for RCC, we will then send you the Level 1 course exam to conduct, and you will be allowed to enrol straight into the Advanced Course. Upon successful of the assessments for each course, you will be entitled to both certificates and full accreditation.
  • Deemed unsuitable for RCC. You can opt to pay the difference and attend the Level 1 course in full. NB. If you do not wish to attend the course in full you will not be eligible for the RCC fee to be refunded.
  • Deemed partially suitable. We may need to see you for part of the day on the Level 1 course to conduct specific training and assessment.
Evidence

Evidence can consist of course reports, certificates, in-house training certificates, supervisor reports, work history, example lesson plans, etc (the idea is you prove you are already competent).

Cost

The RCC process has an application fee. This is non refundable, however it can be rolled into the Level 1 course fee if your RCC application is deemed unsuccessful and you wish to attend the full course.

Timeline

We aim to inform you of the result within 5 working days.

The Bottom Line

We aim to ensure your RCC/RPL application is treated fairly, but we also need to ensure our integrity in training is maintained, and that the standard is met for the accreditation of the Level 1 Bootcamp and Outdoor Fitness Leader Course with the awarding of the certificate and the 8 CECs. We also need to ensure the RCC/RPL process is applied correctly, and that it is not simply a method to shortcut the CEC process. We will, however, ensure prior learning and experience is justly recognised and attempt to get you straight to the Advanced Course if it is obvious you are suitably qualified and/or experienced.
